How do I add team members in UptimeController?

In UptimeController, you can add Internal Team Members (technicians and staff who work directly for your company) and Contractors (independent technicians available through the Marketplace). Adding both ensures you can assign jobs efficiently and expand coverage as needed.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Adding Internal Team Members

  1. Click + Team Member.

  2. Enter the following details:

    • First Name

    • Last Name

    • Email Address

    • Role (choose one):

      • Technician – Can only be assigned jobs; cannot dispatch.

      • Technician/Dispatcher – Can re-assign jobs to other technicians or complete jobs themselves.

      • Dispatcher – Can only re-assign jobs to a technician for completion.

  3. Once added, the team member will receive an email notification prompting them to activate their account.


Adding Contractors from the Marketplace

  1. Select Search via the Marketplace.

  2. Choose how to search for technicians:

    • List View – Browse available technicians in a list format.

    • Map View – Use the map functionality (top right of the screen) to search by location.

  3. Review the technician’s profile details:

    • Coverage area

    • Availability

    • Devices serviced

    • Certifications (especially for X-ray and manufacturer-certified techs)

    • Pricing

  4. When you identify a technician you’d like to add, click + Add to My Team.

    • The technician will receive a notification and must accept your request to be verified before they can receive re-assigned jobs from your account.

  5. Optional: Use the Send Message button to generate an email to the technician or tech group and inquire before adding them to your account.
